Every year, a group of high school students in Jackson Hole, Wyo., gets to choose which nonprofit will receive a grant.
This year, 21 organizations received $37,000 from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole's 2023 Youth Philanthropy program, the Jackson Hole News & Guide reports.
Students from five local high schools spent the winter reviewing grant proposals from 24 nonprofits and deciding which projects to support.
"As our Climb participants are starting new jobs, the last thing we want them to be worried about is if they have the right equipment for the position," says Climb Wyoming, which received $3,000 for "Dress For Success: Giving Low-Income Single Mothers in the Tetons the Tools to Start New Careers."
