"Millions more people are on the brink of food insecurity and threats to the livelihoods of smallholder farmers are increasing."

So says the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization in announcing the first-ever Food and Agriculture Pavilion at the UN Climate Change Conference, to be held in Egypt in 2022.

The pavilion, to be hosted by the FAO, CGIAR, and the Rockefeller Foundation, "will convene local, national, and global actors including farmers and youth to seek solutions for transforming agri-food systems to make them more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable, and ensuring that no one is left behind in our efforts to eradicate hunger and malnutrition," says CGIAR Executive Managing Director Claudia Sadoff in a press release.

The goal is "to advance a shared understanding of the most pressing food and agriculture issues facing people and planet and share knowledge and innovative solutions," FAO Director-General Dongyu Dongyu adds.

The pavilion, which will be located in the "Blue Zone," will bring together community leaders alongside government, philanthropic, youth, and academic partners to share knowledge and innovative solutions, per the press release.

It will also feature a conference room, a meeting room for delegations, and an office for bilateral meetings, as well as a Fairtrade stand providing free low carbon and organic tea
