Erica Snow moved from Denver to Aspen in 2022. That same year, she joined the Peace Corps in Madagascar.
Now, as the new executive director of the Aspen Community Foundation, she's working to make the Colorado resort community a better place, the Aspen Times reports.
"There is so much we can learn from others, and to really have a change you have to make sure all those voices are part of the solution and that they are leading and driving it," Snow says.
As a Peace Corps volunteer in Madagascar, "it was an eye-opening experience and it changed me," she says.
One of the ways Snow is working to make Aspen a better place is through the foundation's Cradle to Career Initiative, which aims to boost access to childcare, early education, and career and college counseling for at-risk children.
"Since I've moved here, be it my team, be it the board, and anyone that I have met here, there is a deep commitment and love for the people, the beauty and the cultural richness of this region," Snow says.
