High Industries has been handed to the High Foundation by S.Dale High and his family, who formerly had a majority stake in the company. The income, as well as management of the East Lampeter Township-based firm, will be handed to the foundation. It would provide more than $5 million each year to initiatives that fight poverty and help communities grow. According to the firm, High will generate $570 million in sales in 2021. High Companies, which serves as the umbrella organization for High Industries and High Real Estate Group, is one of the county's largest employers.
Steel, concrete, real estate, construction, hotels, transportation, air quality and safety consultancy, and other industries are served by the companies. In addition, employees were given the option of directing $100 apiece in foundation money to a local nonprofit of their choosing, according to Mike Shirk, the CEO of the High businesses.
