During the course of this year, it is anticipated that a number of initiatives targeted at upgrading Tecumseh Park will get launched. A redesigned splash pad, which started construction last autumn and is anticipated to be completed in time for Canada Day, will be available to the public. Approximately $2 million worth of construction is planned, including a new skateboard park and ball diamond fence, among other things. The repairs to Tecumseh Park's splash pad are planned to be completed by Canada Day this year. The refurbishment contract was given to Acapulco Pools in November of last year.
Grants provide for 61% of the total financing for the park's numerous programs and initiatives. She said that plans for a new skateboard park are likely to be completed shortly.
