The Orange County Community Foundation hosted the "Protect Dignity" event, a cooperative donation day that aims to raise $100,000 for seven non-profit organizations throughout Orange County that provide services to seniors in need.
The COVID -19 pandemic has disrupted the lives of millions of Americans, especially the elderly.
According to Orange County’s strategic plan for aging, adults will face a series of new economic, social, health and life related to aging Orange County is unable to provide sufficient support for this growing population.
"Protect Dignity" will raise funds to support seniors who need support services. These organizations provide a range of resources, including meals, Housing, domestic violence services, hospice care, participation opportunities and caregiver support
Since its launch in 2015, the Foundation’s Cooperative Donation Day has raised more than $13 million for non-profit organizations in Orange County.

A Gilesgate-based shop and community facility, Hexham’s Core Music, launches a separate workshop where up to six people will be trained how to repair guitars and make ukuleles. The European Social Fund grant supported the project and has secured funds through the County Durham Communication Foundation to equip the workshop in Burn Lane.
