Sarah Kaper, director of "Ag in the Classroom" of the Champaign County Department of Agriculture, worked with Urbana Park District (UPD) and Champaign County Forest Reserve (CCFPD) to provide an exploration kit for all elementary school students in Champaign County.
These toolkits contain activities to explore natural resources, while providing educators with tools and activities that comply with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). The positive response of the fall project led to another collaboration, this time including Champaign County Ag in the classroom.
These kits include study guides, various materials needed to complete the hands-on project, and rope backpacks displaying logos for the CCFB Foundation, The Community Foundation of East Central Illinois, The Champaign County Forest Preserve, and the Urbana Park District.
