Crown Point Community Foundation celebrates their 22nd anniversary at the Lighthouse Restaurant in Cedar Lake last May 9, 2012. Along with that, they have accepted 3 new board members who all have impressive resumes.
Their 3 new board members are the following: Nancy Cowan Eksten, a hometown hero as part of the girls basketball program in Crown Point High School; Mike Dexter, a financial advisor and partner of Edward Jones Investments in Crown Point; and Ben Ballou, a Crown Point native and a multi-sport athlete at Crown Point High School.

A Gilesgate-based shop and community facility, Hexham’s Core Music, launches a separate workshop where up to six people will be trained how to repair guitars and make ukuleles. The European Social Fund grant supported the project and has secured funds through the County Durham Communication Foundation to equip the workshop in Burn Lane.
