The Prudential Foundation has awarded Essex County College's Center for Student Success a $50,000 grant. The purpose of the grant is to improve college-readiness for New Jersey high school students, particularly those in the City of Newark planning to attend Essex. The grant will fund dual enrollment programs statewide for high school students through the College Credit Now program. This grant will also help fund the College Readiness Now program, with the goal of raising the number of students acquiring post-secondary degrees and/or credentials in the state.
The Prudential Foundation's generosity will provide New Jersey's 19 community colleges with funds to help them continue to develop and implement programs that aid students in reaching their career goals. The Foundation is committed to helping New Jersey's public school students acquire a post-secondary education or the credentials necessary to secure employment and compete in today's economy.
