International Center for Not-for-Profit Law Grant

Organization - International Center for Not-for-Profit Law
Grant Amount - $100,000
Foundation - Mott Foundation
Grant Purpose - This program supports the development of an enabling legal and regulatory environment for Ukraine's nonprofit sector. Grant funds will enable the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law to provide technical assistance in the drafting and implementation of legislation affecting nongovernmental organizations and the development of philanthropy. The grantee will also undertake educational initiatives for lawyers, government officials, parliamentarians, and nongovernmental organization leaders on legislation and legal issues affecting the nonprofit sector. This project builds on the grantee's previous efforts, which have resulted in continued tax benefits for charitable organizations, reduced costs of registering legal entities, and a coherent government policy for civil society development in Ukraine. The grantee is the only international organization providing a full range of legal services for the support and development of the legal and regulatory structure governing civil society and the nonprofit sector in emerging and developed countries around the world.
