'Backpacks For Good' Event Taking Place on August 6 in Benton Harbor

The Berrien Community Foundation will give out 1,100 backpacks with school supplies.

Backpacks will be available for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Whirlpool Corporation sponsored the event and had employees prepare the backpacks behind the scenes.

There will also be farm-fresh vegetables and other food items available at the event.

The event will take place at Mitchell City Center Park in downtown Benton Harbor.
