Grants of $500,000 each were awarded to Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Public Theater and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
"It's basically trying to offer the academic space as a space for collaboration," Edinger says.
"There are stages of development in terms of writing, creating new design for it, rewriting, workshopping that often theaters, particularly our regional houses, don't always have," he says.
