California is putting its money where its mouth is.
The state has allocated $60 million to the California Creative Corps program, which aims to create jobs for artists, creatives, and culture bearers helping their communities, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The state has identified four key topics for the funding: public health and pandemic recovery, water and energy conservation, disaster preparedness and recovery, civic engagement, and social justice.
The program will be distributing $3.8 million in grants to artists in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
