The William Penn Foundation will give $15 million to fund innovations in Philadelphia public, private, and charter schools over the next three years.
President Jeremy Nowak said that the foundation would focus on closing the achievement gap for low-income students, with an emphasis on global standards and this effort is in line with the goals of the current School Reform Commission, overhauling the district, closing struggling schools and expanding strong ones.
