The West Marin Fund is a not-for-profit community foundation that was created 10 years ago to provide funding for nonprofits in the West Marin area.
It's been doing just that, with no strings attached, since it was launched, the Marin Independent Journal reports.
"We're trying to do as much as we can to make West Marin a better place to live and work," says the fund's executive director.
"We're trying to make sure that West Marin is as healthy as it can be."
The fund has helped food banks, rental assistance, and other nonprofits in need, but it can't "meet all our needs, and some of our community organizations have suffered from limited operating funds," says the executive director.
