The Marin County Board of Supervisors approved the allocation at its Tuesday meeting.
The money will come from a $1 million fund created with $500,000 from the county's general fund.
The supervisors also approved allocating an additional $275,000 for rental assistance from the fund over the next eight weeks.
The county has not yet decided the amount of money for which each applicant will be eligible under the new grant program.
